Microsoft Make YouTube App Concessions Following Google Demands

Microsoft over a number of features on the Windows Phone version of the app that they deemed did not fit the service's general image and API terms, including 'restricted video access' and a feature that enabled videos to be downloaded for offline viewing. In response to the requests, it has now become clear that the unique version of the app has been 'immediately withdrawn' as per Google's suggestion, and that it has been replaced with a more 'Sound Activation Video Recorder Telephone Recording With MP3 Player 2GB' version. Despite this upgrade, the app is still believed to be violating a number of Google's API procedures for YouTube, with an 'advert blocking' segment of the app a key item believed to be under question.

While Google are believed to have given their technology rivals time to make full amendments as opposed to losing the draw of a key app, Microsoft's position on the story was summarised with a public statement, reading: "Microsoft updated the Windows Phone YouTube app to address restricted Digital Voice Activation Voice Recorder USB Type 4GB and offline video access concerns voiced by Google last week. We have been in contact with Google and continue to believe that our two companies can work together to hone an app that benefits our mutual customers, partners and content providers."plus more content will come from from local PBS affiliates that broadcast across the US. Shows from the PBS Kids channel include Curious George, The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Super Why! and Dinosaur Train. The app is available now from the Movies and TV area of the Roku Channel Store. After installing users are asked to identify their local PBS station, and from that will be offered a selection of stations.

MCA had issued a show-cause notice to Shetty asking him to reply on the allegations. In the AGM, Shetty had contended that the tickets were in fact requested by MCA from its Gujarat counterpart for the T20 game between India and Pakistan, held at the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad in December 2012 and the association had to pay money for it. "Shetty will be asked to hear the tapes and watch vedio recordings within seven days and then he has to reply. The managing committee will then decide what necessary action is to be taken on Shetty," a managing committee member said. The managing committee wants to follow a process and Shetty will have to hear the tapes at the Professional Digital Voice Recorder Mobilephone Recorder 2GB office within seven days and if he fails to do so then he might have to face a 5-year-ban.
